How to choose free project management software

Evaluate free project management tools by user limits, task views, time tracking and paid feature scope.

Compare free scope with your workflow

A “free” label does not mean every feature is unlimited. Users, reporting and additional modules may vary by plan. Before choosing, list weekly activities and essential fields.

Try a small, real project

For a three-person website project, create design, content and testing tasks. Give each an owner and date. Check how team members find their work and the manager identifies delays.

  1. Try creating and assigning tasks.
  2. Find the same work in list and board views.
  3. Assess time entry and reporting needs.
  4. Estimate paid scope needed as the team grows.

Scope of Taklino’s free plan

The free plan includes project and task management, time tracking and basic reporting for up to five users. Check current plans for advanced features and pricing.

Service Desk and full CRM are not part of the free plan. AI Assistant is a separate add-on to paid plans. After the first week, review unused fields and missing information. Outdated records cannot explain project status, regardless of the tool’s scope.
