From support ticket to project task: coordinating team work

How to preserve scope, ownership and customer communication when a support request becomes project work.

TaklinoPublished: Updated:

Which requests become project work?

An access issue may need a settings change; a new report may require analysis, development and testing. Even when support keeps one ticket, the work can involve several steps. Visibility in the project plan helps teams discuss resources and dates.

Preserve context during transfer

“Build a report” is not enough context. Include the need, output, example and scope discussed with the customer. Share personal or sensitive information only to the extent needed for the work.

  1. Clarify the expected outcome.
  2. Define the project owner and planned date.
  3. Identify who updates the customer.
  4. Check the outcome against the original need.

Complete communication when the task is done

When development finishes, explain how the customer can use or test the result. Internal completion and customer confirmation are different stages. Agree on closure criteria in advance.

Taklino Service Desk supports transferring substantial support work to project tasks. The project team can follow the task plan while support follows communication. Review project visibility and team permissions before trying the workflow.
